vBridge AI Chat Assistant adds a floating chat widget to your WordPress site. Visitors
can ask questions and receive streamed replies from an AI provider you configure.
You can optionally index published pages, posts, and other public post types so 
answers stay closer to your own content.

This plugin is an interface to third-party AI services. You provide your own API
key. vBridge Tech Ltd does not proxy or bill those requests.

The plugin talks to OpenAI and Gemini with the site owner’s keys so it works on 
WordPress 6.5+ and keeps provider choice inside this plugin. WordPress 7.0’s AI 
Client is not required.

#### Features

 * Floating chat widget with light and dark appearance
 * Streaming replies from OpenAI or Gemini
 * Optional website knowledge (retrieve matching chunks from indexed content)
 * Encrypted API key storage using WordPress salts
 * Rate limiting per IP and maximum message length
 * Optional matching of site logo and accent colour

#### Third-party services

When a visitor sends a chat message, the plugin sends the message (and, if enabled,
retrieved site content) to the provider you selected:

No request is sent until you save an API key and a visitor (or you) uses the chat
widget.

Claude and Ollama appear in settings as upcoming providers and are not live yet.

#### Credits

The widget UI uses the [Outfit](https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Outfit) typeface(
SIL Open Font License), bundled locally.

### Privacy

The plugin stores API keys (encrypted), widget settings, indexed content chunks,
and chat transcripts on your WordPress site. Chat text is also sent to the AI provider
you configure. Review that provider’s privacy policy before enabling the widget 
on a public site.

## نصب

 1. Upload the `vbridge-ai-chat-assistant` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`, or install
    the zip via Plugins  Add New  Upload Plugin.
 2. Activate vBridge AI Chat Assistant.
 3. Open **vBridge Chat** in the admin menu.
 4. Choose OpenAI or Gemini, paste your API key, and choose a model.
 5. Optionally enable website knowledge, select post types, and click **Re-index website
    now**.

### Do I need a WordPress.org account to use the plugin after it is listed?

No. Site owners install it like any other plugin. You only need a WordPress.org 
account to submit and maintain the directory listing.

### Where are API keys stored?

Keys are saved in the WordPress options table, encrypted with AES-256-CBC using 
keys derived from WordPress authentication salts.

### Does the plugin send data to vBridge?

No. Chat requests go from your server to OpenAI or Gemini only.

### What happens to visitor messages?

The plugin stores conversations and messages in custom database tables on your site
so the widget can keep a session. Those tables are removed if you uninstall the 
plugin.

### Can I change the look of the widget?

Yes. You can set title, subtitle, welcome text, appearance, accent colour, and font
from the settings screen. Matching site branding is optional.

### Why not WordPress core AI Client?

This plugin is built for site owners who paste their own OpenAI or Gemini key and
pick a model here. That works on WordPress 6.5+ and does not depend on a site-wide
AI Client setup. Direct provider calls are documented above.
