This simple, but useful plugin that lets you control what label shows next to each Widget in your WordPress dashboard. The idea behind is to allow better organization of your widgets, as well as to give you a bit more control and flexibility over this already-built-in WordPress feature.

It’s very handy in cases where you’d like your clients to know something before updating a certain widget. We might even change this up in the future and change it up to a <textarea> field.

In the meanwhile — enjoy, and feel free to contribute / send pull requests our way over at GitHub.

Did I say thank you? I’ve been looking for a plug in to put a label on the back end of my text widgets for weeks and weeks. IDK how I missed this one. I’m putting a lot of display ads in my right side bar and I had to open each up when editing to see which one was what – ARGHH – Pain! Time SUCK !! But this simple widget has made a major part of my admin work on my site so so so much quicker and less stressful. I’ve never left a review for a plug in and even had to reset my Wordpress password to leave this one but that’s how important finding this was. TByrd

A simple solution to an annoying problem

There are many cases in which I choose to use the ‘Text’ widget in order to be able to embed HTML code into the sidebar, or just some simple text. It always ends up with the same problem, where I can’t tell the ‘Text’ widgets apart,because there’s no way to label them… they just say: ‘Text’ Guess what – thanks to this plugin, my life is perfect now 🙂
